NEC Develops Thin Battery for Smart Cards, E-Paper
December 15, 2005
NEC recently announced it has developed thin rechargeable battery which is bendable to the extent that it can be rolled up. Instead of using metallic materials for the battery, the company used a special organic compound to make it bendable. The battery is 0.3mm thick, generates 3.7 volts, and can be recharged within 30 seconds. NEC aims its new product towards use in smart cards and e-paper.
